Canja Rave is a rock duo with Paula Nozzari (Defalla, Cidadão Quem, Penélope) on drums and vocals and Chris Kochenborger (Jimi James, Leela) on guitar and vocals. The band started out in the end of 2005. Their debut album was released in July of 2008 - “Da Canja à Rave” (in english: From chicken soup to rave) – with 11 songs written by Paula and Chris. The production of the record was done by Canja Rave, Duca Leindecker, and Leandro Schirmer. Before Canja Rave, Paula recorded with the producers Tom Capone and Carlos Miranda; and Chris with Rafael Ramos and Paul Ralphes. In July of the same year, they did their first international tour! Twelve shows in the United States, from coast to coast. Canja Rave has been doing a lot of shows in many capital cities of Brazil and had participated in important festivals of independent music: Rec Beat (Recife - PE), Demo Sul (Londrina – PR), Gig Rock (Porto Alegre – RS), Morrostock (Sapiranga - RS) e Grito Rock. In March of 2009, Canja Rave represented Brazil in the festival South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, with support of the federal goverment..s Ministério da Cultura. They played along with artists from all over the world. In May of 2009, Canja Rave was the only Brazilian among the 400 bands that participated of the festival Liverpool Sound City in Liverpool, England. This time they gained support from Secretaria Municipal de Cultura de Porto Alegre and from BM&A. Besides the festival, the duo also played in London. Completing four international tours in only one year, in July of 2009, the duo represented Brazil, once again as the only band from their country, at DFEST in Tulsa, Oklahoma (United States). The festival gathered a public of 60 thousand people and the headliners The Black Crowes, Cake and Gogol Bordello. Canja Rave still managed to do ten more shows e record their second album with the legedary JIM DIAMOND – producer of the first 2 albums of The White Stripes, owner of Guetto Recorders – in Detroit, Michigan. The song “AQUI AGORA” is being played in the radios WMSC 90,3 FM from New York/NY and on KPFT Studio 90.1 FM in Houston/Texas – USA.
